A useful handover starts with better questions.

Give Flamekeeper the role, responsibilities, and transition date. It helps you collect the working knowledge, review what comes back, and give the next owner something they can use.

In practice

From a job title to the work behind it.

Set the scope

Start a case with the role and the work changing hands. Add colleagues who can fill in context the manager may not have.

Collect the detail

Guided questions help the employee explain responsibilities, current work, and exceptions. Bring existing notes into the conversation.

Review and pass it on

Check the draft documents and quality feedback. Resolve follow-ups, then export the handover for the next owner.

01Plan & capture

Bring the people who know different parts of the role together.

Start with the role, transition date, and the responsibilities you need to retain. You can enter the case context directly or describe it to the AI assistant. Review the scope before inviting contributors, especially when only part of a role is changing hands.

The manager sets the expectations, the employee explains how the work happens, and colleagues add the dependencies they see. Guided conversations turn these perspectives into a knowledge inventory. This gives you a clearer basis for the handover than asking one person to remember every task they have ever touched.

02Draft & deliver

Turn the captured context into documents your team can maintain.

Once the inventory covers the work, generate documents from the case. Contributors can refine the drafts through chat and add relevant source material where an explanation needs more detail. Action items sit alongside the documents, so an unfinished transfer remains visible after the wording has been improved.

Ask reviewers to check the instructions and resolve outstanding comments before approval. Export the finished documents as PDF, Word, or Markdown and place them in your existing knowledge base. The receiving team gets a reference it can work from and update as the role changes.

Questions & answers

A few things worth knowing.

Have a question about your team?
Talk to us

Is this an offboarding checklist?

Flamekeeper handles knowledge capture and handover review. Keep payroll, equipment returns, and access removal in your existing HR and IT processes.

Do we have to move our company wiki?

No. Use existing documents as context and export the resulting handover as PDF, Word, or Markdown for the place your team already uses.

Who decides whether the handover is ready?

The manager and reviewers do. AI feedback helps them find weak areas; it cannot verify that every instruction matches reality.
