Manage departure dates

Maintain upcoming employee departures in Flamekeeper People and keep the handover timeline aligned with the last working day.

Knowing which departures are approaching gives managers time to collect knowledge before it becomes difficult to recover.

View upcoming departures

Open People and select Upcoming departures. Use All people for the wider organization list. Each row shows the person's role, status, and departure date when one is set.

Set or edit a departure

Managers, HR users, and administrators have departure-management controls for eligible users. Select Set departure or Edit departure, enter the Last working day, and select Save.

These actions are not offered for your own row, invited users, or former users. When inviting someone who is leaving, you can provide their last working day in the invitation form instead.

Correct a changed plan

If the departure is cancelled, the departure dialog lets you leave the date blank and save to clear it and return the user to active status.

Also check the related handover case's Last working day in Overview. Review case details when the timeline changes, and move any follow-up deadlines that depend on it. Do not assume that updating a People record has updated every part of the handover plan.

Use the date to prioritize capture

As the last day approaches, focus on unanswered questions that only the employee can resolve. Keep the scope practical: ownership, recurring work, current commitments, and the exceptions that are not documented elsewhere.

See action items to assign the remaining work and complete a handover for final checks.

Keep the knowledge. Carry on with the work.
